The main aim of ANDROMEDA project is the development and validation of a flexible and holistic solution for additive manufacturing by LMD of large parts to several industrial sectors: tooling, aeronautics, energy.
The project is part of ANDROMEDA international project where an European ecosystem of factories is aiming to produce large additively manufactured parts of high-added value alloys. National consortium of Andromeda is formed by companies GNC Láser y CT Ingenieros and the Tecnological Center Aimen. Spanish factory will be located at GNC Láser.
As a result, ANDROMEDA will create a digital thread (a seamless data stream) that will allow a integrated process control (end to end) to link all Additive manufacturing steps: design, process simulation, tool path generation by CAM, manufacturing and real time process control.
ANDRÓMEDA will be able to adapt to small batch and unique parts manufacturing by developing and implementing a flexible automation concept able to react and correct possible variations in the manufacturing process.
**The ANDROMEDA project is part of the INNOGLOBAL Program 2017, granted by CDTI (Ref. INNO-20171103/INNO-20171099), co-financed with European structural funds, and supported by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of Spain.
