ROBLE aims for the development of high flexible and scalable robotized systems for logistics. It proposes the use of commercial mobile platforms combined with a multi-robot and multi-user control architecture, localisation based on natural landmarks, dynamic path planning and tasks scheduling systems, 3D vision and robot-robot cooperation.
These new robotized systems are needed to complement the actual automation solutions in order to support the new flexible production systems. Flexible production requires a more complex supply chain oriented to small batches. This means that the number of manufacturing references rises as the number of each one of them is reduced. This forces to develop novel technological solutions to allow increasing the competitiveness and quality of production processes.
To this end, ROBLE proposes the implementation of an integral solutions for the design and development of robotized applications for logistics. These applications will be based on a multi-robot and multi-user control architecture that will be also integrated with the global management system. Final solution will be focused on high impact sectors, with two demonstrators for the automotive industry: warehousing and intralogistics.
