The main objective of FOF project is helping Galician heavy industry companies to improve their competitiveness by means of two main research lines:
1) Optimization of current welding and repair processes, and introduction of novel high performance welding technologies.
2) Development of a DSS system, which gives technical and economical support to manufacture new components or equipments. This DSS (Decision Support System) tool, will integrate a software based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), which will return the optimized welding or repair procedure from the input data introduced by the user (material, thickness, process parameters).
The role of AIMEN in this project is, an an expert in joining technologies, optimize current welding and repair technologies used by the partners of the project, as well as introduce novel and high performace welding technologies. With respect to the DSS system, AIMEN will collaborate in its development and validation.
