Flexible and multiprocessing robotized cell to be implemented in metal processing industry

  • Start: 01/02/2014
  • End: 30/06/2015

The main goal in this project is to develop new manufacturing technologies to be implemented in the metal processing industry, as a new concept of a flexible manufacturing cell, to be focused on small batches with variable geometries, in order to increase the manufacturing productivity and quality.
To achieve this, AIMEN, with its expertise in robotizing and automation, has collaborated in the development of the following systems:
• A high level abstraction programming system, developing an offline programming application with the capacity to create automatically the robot routines and instructions taking the part CAD model as the system input.
• A low cost, accurate and flexible positioning system, based on artificial vision. To increase the positioning accuracy in-between 0.1-0.2mm, it is used a feedback position measurement.

  • Sectors: Automotive, Metal mechanical, Shipbuilding, Wind energy
  • R&D&i: Flexible manufacturing cells
  • Leader: INTEGASA
  • Partners: Izmar, LEDISSON, Vision Plus, Computer-3
  • Acronym: ROBOFLEX
  • Ambit: Regional
