Development of 4.0 technologies for NAVANTIA´s future yard

  • Start: 01/04/2019
  • End: 31/07/2023

F4ST aims to validate and demonstrate the concept of Shipyard 4.0 through the development, implementation, validation, deployment and demonstration of smart solutions that will be integrated into the shipyard management system (MES / ERP / PLM) with the objective of working in a new concept of modular, reconfigurable and flexible shipyard focused on the manufacture of complex naval components.
F4ST will enable the adaptability and responsiveness of manufacturing lines by integrating reconfigurable manufacturing cells, for a better production management. The scope of the F4ST project focuses on two major manufacturing lines that cover more than 60% of the Ferrol shipyard's activity: 1) SUB-BLOCK MANUFACTURING LINE; and 2) JACKETS MANUFACTURING LINE FOR THE OFFSHORE INDUSTRY.
All the mentioned developments will involve the introduction of new 4.0 technologies in the shipyard (advanced robotics, artificial vision, cognitive sensors, self-adaptive control systems, advanced data analytics, cyber-physical-systems,...) that will transform NAVANTIA Ferrol into the smartest shipyard worldwide.
