Development of functional geopolymers for constructive solutions and wastewater treatment using the circular economy model

The main objective of GEOPOLAR is the development of a new cement-free construction material based on geopolymerization of industrial waste using a production process focused on a circular economy concept. A suitable dosage of the material will allow to be applied in constructive solutions while the possibility of modifying its intrinsic properties will derive in additional functionalities as adsorbent material with application in wastewater treatment systems.
With a multisector approach, the consortium is made up of five Galician SMEs, specialized in diferrent market niches, which will guarantee the feasibility of applying the products according to their characteristics: CYE Control y Estudios, PREFHORVISA, CERTEGA, Glaücor and XILOGA. AIMEN will focus on the design and development of new sustainable and efficient materials based on geopolymerization of industrial waste, as well as collaborating in wastewater treatment.
