The main goal of KETmaritime is to foster key enabling technologies or KETs (comprising micro and nanoelectronics, nanotechnology, industrial biotechnology, advanced materials, photonics and advanced manufacturing technologies), across the Atlantic Area by building a cooperative network to promote technology transfer to the maritime sector.
KETmaritime's objective is to increase knowledge, good practices and sustainable solutions related to KETs in order to improve the maritime economy through innovation and transnational cooperation. At the end of the project, a network will be established to achieve a better integration of scientific, industrial and financial stakeholders and facilitate the adoption of novel developments.
The project will reach end users such as ship owners and builders, fisheries, food sector and other maritime services suppliers, building a long-lasting hub for stable cooperation and innovation within the Atlantic Area.
Partners will jointly create a KET-enabled pilot ecosystem which will serve as a physical and human resource for the Atlantic Area. Within this framework, AIMEN will use its wide expertise in KETs to contribute to the definition of the challenges of the maritime sector and find tailored KET applications to be transferred to the maritime industry. AIMEN will also be responsible for the development of one pilot line integrating KETs into one specific maritime application.
