Laser equipment assessment for high impact innovation in the manufacturing European industry

  • Start: 02/09/2013
  • End: 01/03/2018

LASHARE is an ambitious European initiative involving more than 50 innovative laser equipment supplier SMEs from across Europe, industrial end users and six of the most renowned laser research institutes.
The main objective is to build a methodology for advanced laser based manufacturing equipment development and industrialization, based on common rules and shared knowledge on laser equipment assesment. The developed methodology will be used to address the whole value chain end to end. As a key success factor for European manufacturing the transfer of innovative solutions from the laboratory into industrially robust products and the dissemination of its use stands at the heart of the project.
AIMEN is one of the six excellence centres in laser technology, supporting the development and implementation of innovative laser manufacturing solutions. AIMEN coordinates five of the developments and assessments of new laser equipment, dealing with sources for laser assisted forming, laser microwelding equipment, robotic additive manufacturing, high speed thermographic laser weld quality control, and machine vision guided laser cutting of textile.

**This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 609046.
