PACKTABLA proposes the development of innovative manufacturing technologies and its combination with the development of new flexible robotic systems and the most recent technologies in the field of perception systems, so as to enable the use of sawmill as sawmill materials as separators tracks of table layers, valuing such products and deriving in an improved productivity in sawmill lines in more than 20%.
The final objective is to implement a new model of Smart Factory in sawmills based on the concept of Industry 4.0 and oriented to the sustainable, flexible, efficient and customised manufacture of new wood products in sawmills with high added value.
This project will be executed by the consortium formed by FINSA (project leader) and AIMEN. The partners combine the experience and knowledge in the wood sector, specifically in the primary transformation processes in sawmill, and the knowledge of artificial vision-based technologies, the control techniques in advanced robotics, the mechanical system design reconfigurable and adaptable, the traceability and the development of blockchain and virtual production environments based on digital twin blockchain platforms.
The Project is focused on the subject area: “Digital world, industry, space and defence”. This challenge is mainly focused on the subject subarea “Electric, electronic and automatic engineering”, aligned with the priorities defined in the Smart Specialization Strategies (RIS3).
