The aim of MASTIL project is to develop new manufacturing technologies and methodologies, based on combining spatial data and CAD modelling along with augmented reality. It is focused on developing mobile applications for shipbuilding industry in order to assist workers in supervision of ship conversion and ship repair processes. On this matter, MASTIL contemplates the development of these ICT tools, focused on workers, that will allow to guide them and gather incidents that take place during the ship conversion process. Developed technologies will have a possitive impact on the manufacturing process efficiency, lead-time, innovative capacity and working conditions.
In this context, AIMEN is in charge of developing the localization system based on structural features (matching CAD), carrying out the system integration and the system start-up in a controlled environment.
